Howdy! I am Josa. The face behind the lens of Josa Comstock Photography. I am a life long "horse girl", dancer, 4-h
and United States Pony Club alumni. Being homeschooled from k-12 allowed me the freedom to explore many artistic avenues. After graduating, I attended College of Lake County and received my associates in dance. Unsure of what passion to pursue professionally, I delayed my education a semester to take a class in photography. I was smitten. I transferred to Columbia College Chicago and in three short semesters received my bachelor of fine arts in commercial photography. In June of 2019, I founded Josa Comstock Photography, LLC. I was surrounded by a beautiful, supportive community that helped to build my portfolio and expand my connections. Every year, I grow my small business and meet new people, horses and photographers. What started as a dream to make a living out of something I loved, now fulfills my life. I would describe my style like I would describe myself; authentic, wild and nostalgic. |
Out of office... When I'm not behind my camera or computer, you can find me in a barn, a dance studio or a tent somewhere in the woods. I am privileged to own and care for eight beautiful horses, a border collie and a cat. I dance, choreograph and perform with
L-Theory Collective Dance in my "quiet" season. If I'm not spending time with my animals or dancing, I'm exploring with my amazing, supportive husband, Matt. We both share a terrible case of the travel bug and have a massive bucket list of places to see. |
